New Short Story on Nifty - "Inferior Nothing"

"Inferior Nothing" doesn't have any of the characters from the Sgt. Tate story.  But there's a lot of Sgt. Tate in the Top from "Inferior Nothing", especially the twisted controlling manipulations.  Well that, and his imposing size too.  And a lot of ass eating too.

If you are coming to this Blog from Nifty, welcome.  This site is devoted to my other story "11 Days with Sgt Tate" my first novel that originally appeared on Nifty.  As I mentioned before, there are a lot of similarities between the two stories.  Previous versions of "Sgt. Tate" exist.  For the e-book, I have really sharpened it up and created a tighter story.  It is on Amazon, iTunes, and Lulu for $2.99 USD.  Please explore the rest of this blog dedicated to the background.

"Inferior Nothing" can be found in the Authoritarian or Urination categories by clicking here or here.

WHAT is 11 DAYS WITH SGT TATE?

Simply put it is a gay S&M novel surrounding an inexperienced closeted young man and his father's former Drill Instructor.  Thrust together for eleven days, the hyper-sexual retired Marine manipulates the young man into a sequence of increasing intense sexual situations.

The style is more literary over pornographic, but that doesn't mean the sexual situations are watered down—far from it.  There is a concerted effort to keep the graphic nature and the intensity throughout.  There IS a story that develops—one that has well-developed characters and is built around sex but isn't limited by it.  There is an epic feel to the story.  After finishing the story, many have felt that they have been through hell with these two men.

This blog is designed to offer additional background information, like where to buy the book, where the characters came from, themes from the story, etc.

INITIAL CUSTOMER REVIEWS

A few fan reviews have come in. Vast majority are five star reviews!

First from Amazon:
I am very well acquainted with the BDSM lifestyle having been a part of it for years. This story was written by a man who clearly knows what he's talking about.

The main characters are absolutely compelling. Their journey together as well as individually is so well written I found myself pulled into their world and wanting to be a part of it. For the first half of the book, I had a love/hate relationship with Sgt Tate. Three quarters through and I fell in love with him. Dan is a remarkable young man. I'd love to spend time with him, as well.

I went through every emotion reading this book. Love, hate, lust, disgust, sadness, anger, joy. I laughed, I cried. There are 3 points in the story where I just completely teared up. The emotions this story conjures are very powerful. It was a very emotional roller coaster ride. If you don't tear up at least once, you have no soul.

Please, please write more...just nothing further in this story. For me, where the story ends is where it should stay. I would devour anything else. This book left me needing more. A truly fantastic read.

Thank you SO much for this amazing story!

Being only available in digital format, you can read 11 Days with Sgt. Tate on a tablet or other mobile device.  If you are unsure you can play the downloaded file the below links should be helpful.

THE eBOOK vs PREVIOUS (Nifty) EDITIONS

With the novel coming out 5 years after the first version appeared, this blog is still receiving traffic referred from previous versions.  If you are one of these readers, I want to say welcome.

A lot has changed from that first version:

TOPIC - Who am I?

Who am I?  Well, I am a first time novelist living near San Francisco.  Fiction writing is not my profession, but I had to do something with my degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan.

TOPIC - The Axioms of Sgt Tate

The following are the axioms (or rules) I followed as I was writing the story.  I adhered to most of them. For others where the story dictated, I allowed for some deviation from the rules.  And even other rules were broken, only to be fixed in the re-write.

LOCATION - The Sex Club

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

CHARACTER - Joseph 'Joe' David Ventura

Named by Mack, Joe is the character that most people like.  He is based on one of my closest friends.

LOCATION - The Rest Area

I was asked often where the rest area was located.  I wish there was one out there like the one described in the story.  It exists only in my mind.

TOPIC - Safe Sex? What's that?

I wrote 11 Days with Sgt Tate as my escape from reality.  I envisioned a 6'5" hung bear behemoth Marine Drill Instructor with millions made from patents.  He doesn't exist in reality.  (If he does, send him my way.)  I envisioned a Rest Area closed to the public but open to dozens of truckers all looking to get laid.  It doesn't exist in reality.  (If it does let me know where I should go for a little fun.)  I envisioned that unprotected sex doesn't have any worries.  That doesn't exist in reality.

CHARACTER: Randy

I think that Randy is the least developed character. . . .

TOPIC - Porn versus Erotica

When I started Sgt Tate it was going to be a story built around a lot of sex scenes.  I had the scenes pretty much planned out.  Yeah it was going to be Tate training Dan and getting closer and closer.  Tate takes it too far with Boris, but the sex scenes come back afterwards.  I wasn't planning on much of the emotional side of the torture scene to dominate the last part of the story.

TOPIC - The Women Readers of Sgt Tate

It may come as a surprise that a number of women have read 12 Days with Sgt Tate.  I find it very interesting that they have followed a gay S&M raunch love story.  For this blog, I decided to find out more about this seemingly contradiction.

TOPIC - The United States Marine Corps

When initially designing the story, I wanted Tate to be the archetype of hyper-masculinity.  He needed to be in the military, more specifically the Marines.  And the most aggressive would be a Drill Instructor.

TOPIC - Hunting on a Hunting Trip?

When I conceived the story, it was centered around a hunting trip.  About Day 4 or 5, I realized that they will be on a hunting trip for 11 days; shouldn't they hunt something?

LOCATION: The Lodge

The lodge is a place I would love to visit.  It is based on a number of hidden lodges / hotels I have been in located in northern Minnesota.

CHARACTER: Jack Stevens

Dan's dad is a homophobic jerk.  He should not have had the responsibility of raising Dan.  When I first conceived him, he was mildly homophobic.  In the end he became something more extreme.

CHARACTER: Senior Drill Instructor Master Sergeant Lennox Tate

While I consider Dan to be the weakest character, I think Tate is the strongest.  The story is essentially about him and his transformation.

Where on earth did this man come from?  I wanted Tate to be the ultimate top, the ultimate master, the ultimate man.  I wanted him to be the alpha male of all alpha males.

TOPIC - Where do we go from here?

Is there going to be a sequel?
